February Bird Walk at Paynetown

  • Paynetown State Recreation Area (map)

David Rupp of IndiGo Birding Nature Tours and Bob Watson will lead a Sassafras Audubon Society bird walk on Saturday, February 18 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Paynetown State Recreation Area on Lake Monroe. We will meet in the Activity Center parking lot and then explore the lake front, picnic areas and campground, and possibly the forest in search of a variety of birds. We will include our findings in the Great Backyard Bird Count, the citizen science project run by Audubon and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and happening Feb. 17-20 this year.

Please pre-register by contacting David (812-679-8978 or david@indigobirding.com). All are invited; no maximum number of participants. If you have a spotting scope, please bring it.
