On Monday, October 7th, we invite everyone to the Annual Meeting, which this year is joint with our October board meeting. The meeting will take place in room 2A at the Monroe County Public Library at 7-9pm.

If you would like to join the board and be nominated for one of the open slots please contact us at sas@sassafrasaudubon.org.

We are looking for nominations (including self-nominations) for 6 open spots on our board. Among the open positions is the Vice-President. Currently we have the following candidates:

• Vice-President: Geoff Conrad (incumbent)

• At Large (5-7 open positions): Rob Hongen (incumbent), Amanda Kelly (incumbent), Sadie Dainko (incumbent), Marcella Larch

Board members are expected to attend a majority of the 9-10 board meetings generally held at the first Monday of the month (generally excluding June & July). Meetings are held at 7pm at the Monroe County Public Library or sometimes at the home of a board member.

If you want to participate in the work of the Sassafras Audubon Society, but feel that being a board member is not for you, we encourage you to join any of our new committees. We are looking for 3-4 members and a chair for each of the following committees:

• Education and Outreach Committee

• Conservation and Project Committee

• Membership and Financial Committee

• Publication and Press Committee
