Christmas Bird Count

An eagerly awaited event by birders worldwide. All are invited to join in.

Originally intended to replace an early Christmas tradition in which teams of hunters would compete to see how many birders they could shoot in a day, the CBC has turned conquest of birds with their conservation.

Annually, we sponsor traditional Audubon Christmas Bird Counts at Lake Monroe, McCormick’s Creek State Park, and Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area.
